VSS Failure / User Profile Errors after partition resize

Ever since shrinking a partition and creating another I've been recieving failures in my backups.  Tall the VSS writers and providers seem to be operating normally.  I'm also having issues with the user profile service.  Here are some of the errors I'm getting the the event logs.

The winlogon notification subscriber <Profiles> failed a notification event.

Windows was unable to load the registry. This problem is often caused by insufficient memory or insufficient security rights.

DETAIL - Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service.

for C:\Users\aacajo\ntuser.dat

Windows cannot find the local profile and is logging you on with a temporary profile. Changes you make to this profile will be lost when you log off.

Volume Shadow Copy Error: An error 0x00000000c000014d was encountered while Registry Writer was preparing the registry for a shadow copy. Check the Application and System event logs for any related errors.
