Windows 7 Pro System Image Restore -> The Network Path was not Found (0x80070035)

Hello,

I just setup a new system with Win7 Pro, and successfully performed a backup.  I am testing to ensure I can restore it, and failed.

I boot from a Win7 Pro USB Thumb drive.  The computer does not have an optical drive, and I installed Win7 pro from this device, so I know it is working.  I go through the language, time and keyboard screen, choose the option to repair my computer and then to Restore my computer using a system image that I created earlier.

I then get the select an image backup screen, and I click advanced, then search for a system image on the network.  It asks if I am sure I want to connect to the network, and I say Yes.

It chugs about a minute and 15 seconds, and the ethernet adapter lights blink, and then it asks for the location of the system image.  I have tried the following :

- use the same string as I used when I did the backup.

- add \windowsimagebackup

- add \windowsimagebackup\computername

- using the ip address instead of the computer name where the backup is saved.

- renamed the directories to take all spaces out of the path names

I get a prompt that asks for my username and password, which I enter correctly, but I always get the same error :

The network path was not found. (0x80070035).

I suspect is has something to do with the network I am connected to.  It is a work network, and there is no DHCP available.  I had expected to be asked to enter a ip address, mask, gateway, etc but I didn't see anywhere I can do so.  Are network restores not possible without DHCP?  Also, the server that has the system image is a windows 2000 advanced server box in a domain.  The computer I am restoring was not yet joined to the domain.

Any Help is appreciated.
