We have several Windows 2008 R2 servers running and on all but one of them, the system state backup fails every time. The results message in the Backup screen is that the operation was stopped. The parameter is incorrect. Looking in the event logs, the general tab has the following:
The backup operation that started at '2010-08-30T17:16:12.407271400Z' has failed with following error code '2155347997' (The operation ended before completion.). Please review the event details for a solution, and then rerun the backup operation once the issue is resolved.
The Event ID is 517.
VSS then shuts down due to inactivity time out. I am backing up to a file share on another server with over 600GB of free space.
Can anyone shed any light on this?
