Every once in a while my server restarts unexpectedly, and I suspect that is because I set up my hard drives incorrectly. So my question here is two folds: Can I set up my hard drives as below? If not, is it the cause for my server to restart? I'm pretty new to managing my server and its set up, so forgive me if these questions seem silly.
I have 4 Hard Drives. I have wanted HD1 to be backed up by HD2, and HD3 to be backed up by HD4. Typically, I would set them up as mirrors of each other. However, I am not certain if you can backup HD1 by mirror because it has the operating system on it. Secondly, I wanted to use Storage Spaces and Data Pool, so I shared HD3 and HD4 as one pool instead of mirroring them.
Would appreciate any thoughts on this set up, thank you!
